Problem: A Personalized Experience in a Digital Setting

Turning a traditional tarot reading into a digital experience requires a delicate balance. The core challenge was to guide users intuitively through card selection and to offer them an interpretation that feels human and entirely personal — without making the presence of the complex AI technology working in the background felt.

Solution & Approach

The project began with a thorough analysis of the target audience and comparable products. Online user interviews were conducted in the early stages of design (wireframe and prototype). The main goal of this research was to understand the expectation of "trust" in an AI-generated interpretation and to get the app's tone and the user's pacing right.

Key Features and Design Decisions

The experience was designed around a clear, guiding structure that presents the AI's capabilities without overwhelming the user.

• A Smooth 3-Step Flow: The user journey was optimized into three core steps that minimize cognitive load — "Spread Selection → Chatbot Interaction → Tarot Interpretation."
• A Conversational Interface: Rather than being a cold text generator, the AI was given an empathetic structure that interprets the selected cards in a conversational language and guides the user.
• Focused and Minimalist Design: In keeping with the nature of a tarot reading, the screens were kept extremely simple and calm. Free of visual noise, this interface lets the user focus entirely on the "moment of reading" and the interpretation.

Outcome

TAU became a mobile app that wraps conversational AI technology in a calm, intuitive, and guided flow shaped by early user feedback. The complex AI infrastructure was hidden behind a seamless interface, delivering a meaningful digital experience to users.
